Kanye West For A Bathing Ape Spring 2010 Lookbook
Posted in Clothing, Fashion, Photography with tags A Bathing Ape, Baby Milo, Bape, HypeBeast, Kanye West, Keiichi Nitta on December 23, 2009 by The Goodie BagOnce again Bape have worked with rapper / producer Kanye West, this time for their latest lookbook, which advertises their Spring 2010 collection. With photography from Keiichi Nitta, the collection is well captured is certainly looks very promising. With a mixture of Bape and URSUS Bape releases on the cards, the entire range is refined, with a mixture of Japanese and American aesthetics, making the choice to work with Mr. West appropriate. The collection includes new styles of belts and as wells shirts, work trousers, tees, varsity jackets and more. Surely to be a strong divider amongst fans, the most immediately striking piece is the Baby Milo hoody, which is complete in a vibrant multi-colourway featuring a selection of characters seen throughout Milo’s history.

Nigo’s Custom Bape Mercedes 300 SL.

The Bape General did it once again, this time on one of the most mind-blowing oldtimers of all time – Nigo put his Bape camouflage pattern on the Mercedes 300SL, along with all sorts of other types of customization, such as a custom AMG engine, wheels and more. This is one of the most beautiful cars ever built, thus I’m not so sure it really needs the Bape camo make-over, but at least Nigo can be sure it’s a unique piece. Previously Nigo had put the camouflage on a Rolls-Royce Phantom.
Nigo Cedes Roles At A Bathing Ape!

An interesting article was just published by WWD about the re-organization of A Bathing Ape. Nigo will actually stepping down as president and director of the brand and will be staying on as designer.
“Nigo said he will continue as the majority owner of Nowhere Co., Ltd., A Bathing Ape’s parent company. He will also continue as the designer of A Bathing Ape (also known as Bape) as well as his partnership with singer/producer Pharrell Williams in the Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream brands, where he is co-owner and head designer.”
It seems like a pretty standard move. As the brand grows and became too big, the founder stays on as the creative director and business people take over the reigns. Let’s see if this will cause some changes at the brand.
UPDATE: We heard that next seasons Bape collection is actually designed entirely by Tet from WTAPS. Tet is taking over the Creative director position for next season. We are definitely looking forward to the new season and can only imagine the best to come out of it.
