On Thursday evening, Cudi performed a small show for an intimate crowd at the BAPE store in Soho.

Once again Bape have worked with rapper / producer Kanye West, this time for their latest lookbook, which advertises their Spring 2010 collection. With photography from Keiichi Nitta, the collection is well captured is certainly looks very promising. With a mixture of Bape and URSUS Bape releases on the cards, the entire range is refined, with a mixture of Japanese and American aesthetics, making the choice to work with Mr. West appropriate. The collection includes new styles of belts and as wells shirts, work trousers, tees, varsity jackets and more. Surely to be a strong divider amongst fans, the most immediately striking piece is the Baby Milo hoody, which is complete in a vibrant multi-colourway featuring a selection of characters seen throughout Milo’s history.
As previously announced the BAPE store in Los Angeles will be releasing a limited amount of the new Kid Cudi x Milo t-shirt on Sunday, December 20th, 2009. The t-shirt features the same image as NYC release, but this time Cudi switches up his kit with a grey shark hoodie (rather than red) and a Baby Milo tee. On the back of the shirt is the quote: “General Cudder says…. Take another shot or you’re soft! Rage!” Spotted at HS via BAPE
The shirt will be released at noon, with Cudi making an appearance for autographs and photos in the afternoon. Please call the BAPE store in Los Angeles for more details.
Don’t forget if your in the LA area, Kid Cudi will be performing at Club Nokia at L.A. Live on Dec. 22 and 23. Tickets are still available so get on it while you can!

After the huge success of the first Bape x Cudi collaboration they’re back for another round. Bape will be releasing a limited Kid Cudi x Milo t-shirt at the Bape Los Angeles location to commemorate Cudi’s participation in Lady Gaga’s “The Monster Ball” tour. I saw the design for this tee and its dope, better then the first collaboration so stay tuned for the shirt preview and more info.

Just saw this dope video from StreetLevel.com on YouTube. It’s footage from them covering the Kid Cudi x BAPE T-Shirt Release Party. Some great guests were in attendance including Ferris Bueller from F.Luxury.B, Joe LaPuma from Complex Magazine, Levi Maestro of Maestro Knows, and Emeka Obi from 10.DEEP / Play Cloths.

The Bape General did it once again, this time on one of the most mind-blowing oldtimers of all time – Nigo put his Bape camouflage pattern on the Mercedes 300SL, along with all sorts of other types of customization, such as a custom AMG engine, wheels and more. This is one of the most beautiful cars ever built, thus I’m not so sure it really needs the Bape camo make-over, but at least Nigo can be sure it’s a unique piece. Previously Nigo had put the camouflage on a Rolls-Royce Phantom.
An interesting article was just published by WWD about the re-organization of A Bathing Ape. Nigo will actually stepping down as president and director of the brand and will be staying on as designer.
“Nigo said he will continue as the majority owner of Nowhere Co., Ltd., A Bathing Ape’s parent company. He will also continue as the designer of A Bathing Ape (also known as Bape) as well as his partnership with singer/producer Pharrell Williams in the Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream brands, where he is co-owner and head designer.”
It seems like a pretty standard move. As the brand grows and became too big, the founder stays on as the creative director and business people take over the reigns. Let’s see if this will cause some changes at the brand.
UPDATE: We heard that next seasons Bape collection is actually designed entirely by Tet from WTAPS. Tet is taking over the Creative director position for next season. We are definitely looking forward to the new season and can only imagine the best to come out of it.
