There was even surprise performances by spoken-word artist Aja Monet and Chi-town representer Mic Terror. Hustle Simmons hosted the event. On August 14, 2010 live at Subterranean in Chicago the young hip-hop artist Vic Mensa from Hyde Park opened up for Dom Kennedy. Vic Mensa is the newest artist shooting out from the Brainiac Society camp.
It was my first time hearing Vic Mensa live. Please me believe me, his performance was strong and very impressive. Mensa was accompanied by members of the band Kids These Days. A mixture of elements was in his performance; jazz,hip-hop, and perfect samples cued in right on time. Later on, I caught up with Vic Mensa…This is for all of you who missed the Dom Kennedy show at Subterranean.
