Broken Chainz Ent. brought Chicago one of the livest hip-hop shows of the year at Subterranean on August 14th, 2010. West Coast stand out Dom Kennedy headlined while local favourites Rockie Fresh, Vic Mensa, Pennjamin Bannekar, and Cleveland’s own Keyel tore down the stage as well. There was even surprise performances by spoken-word artist Aja Monet and Chi-town representer Mic Terror. Hustle Simmons hosted the event. Shouts to Calid Bowen and the whole Broken Chainz Ent. crew for showing me a good time while in Chicago.
On August 14, 2010 live at Subterranean in Chicago the young hip-hop artist Vic Mensa from Hyde Park opened up for Dom Kennedy. Vic Mensa is the newest artist shooting out from the Brainiac Society camp.
It was my first time hearing Vic Mensa live. Please me believe me, his performance was strong and very impressive. Mensa was accompanied by members of the band Kids These Days. A mixture of elements was in his performance; jazz,hip-hop, and perfect samples cued in right on time. Later on, I caught up with Vic Mensa…This is for all of you who missed the Dom Kennedy show at Subterranean.
