Labour Day weekend was really crazy in Union Park in Chicago, IL. On September 4, 2010, the North Coast Music Festival (Being the last music festival of the Summer) shook Chicago up! Jay Electronica performed and rocked the stage tremendously! This was a treat to all music lovers and hip-hop heads to witness the hip-hop heavyweight live in action. Jay Electronica expressed his love for Chicago, stating that at one time he lived in Chicago. The sea of people recited every rhyme word for word with excitement. The Goodie Bag was on-hand to capture this sacred moment with Jay Electronica during his performance of Ghost Of Christopher Wallace” and “Exhibit A Transformations”.
Jay Electronica performed to the fullest extent, bringing the festival to a high climax. As the show went on, Jay Electronica sparked a freestyle session. He grabbed a young emcee from the crowd to kick a couple of rhymes. The kid did some justice with several metaphorical punches. In conclusion, it was an iconic performance being the fact that Black Milk was on stage with Jay Electronica the entire time. Jay Electronica dubbed Black Milk the future of hip-hop at this show. Incredible!

Mega breaks down the project below:
On our trip to New York I blogged (Meeting of the Minds) about Gilbere Forte’ and introduced him to the world of Black Scale. We are really stoked to team up with this talented artist who resides in Philadelphia who writes his own lyrics but who also creates his own production. With a similar aesthetic we follow by creating art to share with our family, friends and audience we are proud to present Gilbere Forte’ is BLVCK mixtape available for download now on the links below. This project starts here and will also be giving out the mixtape at our booth during the S.L.A.T.E convention in Las Vegas starting this Tuesday and will follow up plastering posters on the streets of Philadelphia where Gilbere Forte’ will open up for Mos Def, Talib Kweli, and Jay Electronica a couple days after the Magic/Slate convention. Last week Gilbere Forte’ just finished shooting the video “Black Chukkas” with Chris Robinson (Robot Films) in Los Angeles and we look forward to seeing the finish product knowing that Chris Robinson never disappoints when he creates his music videos. This is just the beginning so look out for the anticipated full length album coming soon.
