Please introduce yourself and tell us a little bit about what you do.
My names Chief A.K.A. City Spielberg. I’m the founder of BadHabits clothing, & ½ BadHabits Radio with DJ Twigg. I basically just design clothes and accessories that I would want to wear & feel like others would also like. I tie in music, and parties as well because it’s all apart of what I like to do, but the clothing is my main focus.
What motivated you to start BadHabits?
Through high school people would complement me for having style and clothing was something that always interested me. Last year, which was my 1st year in university I was staying on res, illegally lol, my friend built a bunk bed & I stayed with her because my real house was to far then one night I was lying in bed & decided I wanted to start a line. At first I wanted to have a deep complex name. I had a huge Asian influence because most of my close friends were Asian & my friends’ Mom took care of me a lot so I wanted a Japanese name that sounded cool with a good meaning but that was getting to complex. One day my friend Chris called me over and we went to another friends room to see a poster that they keep in schools of all the BadHabits that kids shouldn’t do, they were all crazy obscure things that you wouldn’t expect in a school but the name BadHabits stuck out because its something that everyone can relate to then the slogan no regrets popped up in my head so I went with BadHabits clothing & “BadHabits No Regrets” as the slogan.
Who are some of your biggest influences? What are some of your inspirations when designing something?
Some of my biggest influences are the different cultures, places & people I have met so far in my life. It has taught me to be myself & not give a fuck what people say or think. Rock music has also influenced me. When designing pieces I get inspiration from anything. I’ll be bunnin’ then suddenly an idea will pop in my head. That’s what happened with the “2Heads” shirt & my idea to have each piece as part of a journey / story line. Or at other times I just sit by myself brainstorming what I should do or how I should do something that hasn’t been done yet, & if it has been done how to add my own unique twist to it.
Who have been your biggest supporters thus far?
My biggest supporters thus far have been my close friends at first but now the brand is starting to gain fans across different countries but I still am mad appreciative to the people who supported and showed me love in the waay beginning. There are also people who show me love when they see me but talk shit when I’m not around but fuck it shows me I’m doing something right lol.
How have you built your brand?
I just started releasing product in the summer so my brand hasn’t been fully built up but basically each day we continue to build and mold our identity in Ottawa / Toronto and around the world as a lifestyle brand for the underdogs & anyone else with BadHabits who can relate, & not to knock yourself about it but to have Noregrets and move on.

Besides BadHabits are you involved in any other projects / ventures?
As of now BadHabits is my main focus within BH were working on a few things that will be coming soon & I’m in my 2nd year of uni so I don’t have much time for anything else.
What upcoming releases, projects, or events are you working on?
We have a frost week party JAN 9 @ CLUB BABYLON in Ottawa going to be a crazy night free give-aways and a lot of surprises.
What are your plans for the future?
I just want to keep building my brand meet designers of renowned brands and gain influence from them and take it one day at a time.
The fashion and music worlds are often tied together…What music artists are grabbing your attention right now?
Kid Cudi would be number one, then as of late Wiz Khalifa, J. Cole; those are my top three new school rappers. I connect music to fashion the grind that a rapper goes through coming up is the same one I compare myself to in this fashion game, so music is a big influence & all three of these rappers are on the come up.

BADHABITS, NOREGRETS!
BadHabits “Mistakes Deny Victory” crewnecks are limited to 25 in a black colourway and 25 in white, and are individually numbered 1 – 50. These are Part 6 in the story. Continuing from Part 5 “BadHabits Made Me” the Monket Lion (Mascot) has now accepted his choice to go underground in search of a good life which isn’t always an honest one. With earnings from various illegal ventures he has been able to get some of the finer things in life. Based off of the luxury brand Yves Saint Laurent the BHNR on the front is heavily influenced by the YSL font and graphics. On the back it reads “Mistakes Deny Victory” which symbolizes even though he is beginning to gain wealth he has always dreamed of, the road he has chosen is a very risky one. It could end today, it could end tomorrow, which is why Mistakes Deny Victory!
