9Five Eyewear “Future So Bright, You Gotta Wear Shades” [Video]

Sorry, I had to do it and put a spin on the Timbuk3 80’s classic “The Future’s So Bright (I Gotta Wear Shades)”, LOL.  Anywhoo, The Goodie Bag would like to re-introduce everyone to 9Five Eyewear.  San Diego, CA based 9Five is inspired by the very sport that is perfect for a typical sunny southern California day, skateboarding.  Also the crew will tell you that 1995 was just a damn good year in skateboarding, sneakers, and music, period.  

What separates 9Five from the norm, is they offer kick-ass designs at awesome pricepoints.  With already 2 seasons in, the guys have solidified their branding presence even in these current tough economic times.  The consumers will support and remember brands that are conscious and sympathetic to their wallets, and 9Five exemplifies all of this.

The new season offers top shelf hand-made acetate with CR-39 lenses, and pro skater models and colourways in the Fall.  Models like the “Majors” in smoke colourway are must haves!

Steve Liriks Ft. Dana La Rock & The Specialists – “Maybe” [Video]

Mass Hysteria Werx artist Steve Liriks has just released the video for his second single “Maybe” off of his upcoming Lazy Boy Syndrome mixtape featuring Dana La Rock and The Specialists.  The track is produced by The Specialists, who added their own live rendition to Steve’s original “Maybe” which samples Peter Bjorn and John’s “Up Against The Wall” track.

Sleigh Bells Ft. Speak! – “Infinity Rap Bars (Infinity Guitars Remix)”

Sleigh Bells new album Treats is filled with so many bangers that it just begs for the rapper remix treatment.  LA-based rapper Speak! is the first to deliver.  Speak!, the self-proclaimed 34^th best rapper alive says off his sound, “I’d describe it as the WWF in the early 90’s meets Bob Dylan.”  Sounds about right in my opinion.  Sit back, relax, and enjoy.

Steve Liriks – “Imagination Or Faith”

Mass Hysteria Werx, Artist Management Division, is proud to announce the first single release, “Imagination Or Faith” from Steve Liriks.  The lead track is off of his upcoming mixtape Lazy Boy Syndrome.  Steve teams up with Austrian producer, Kalifornia Kurt, to faithfully employ a bouncy and neck-node-swelling track filled with imaginative verses about Steve’s quest to succeed in life.  He can daydream about it all day and let negativity hold him down – Imagination; or he can put all of his talents, efforts, and skills to make his own lane to be successful by having Faith.

Lazy Boy Syndrome presented by DJ Chong Wizard, Monotone OC, and Mass Hysteria Werx will be releasing mid-May 2010.

IM King “Pound4Pound” Special Edition Charity T-Shirts

IM King is proud to announce its Special Edition Official Charity T-Shirt collaboration with the current best Pound for Pound Light Welterweight Champion of the World, Manny “PacMan” Pacquiao. This genuine partnership not only commemorates Pacquiao’s fight against Miguel Cotto on November 14, 2009 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, but also mark’s valiant efforts to raise proceeds to help Typhoon Victims in Pacquiao’s home country of the Philippines. Major devastation and tragedy struck on September 26th, 2009 to Metro Manila and its surrounding areas. Part of the T-Shirt sales
proceeds will be donated to the needy victims on behalf of the Manny Pacquiao Foundation and IM King.
 
The IM King “Pound4Pound” design is an inspiration based off Chief Datu Lapu-Lapu, who back in the 16th Century fought back against Spanish Conquistador, Ferdinand Magellan, and successfully defended his village and fellow Filipinos. Pacquiao actually portrayed the legendary country hero in an annual re-enactment held in Cebu City,  Philippines, as he is the perfect modern day example of Lapu-Lapu as a national hero. It is Pacquiao’s Filipino Fighting spirit and an inspiration to the people to make it out of adversity and never let anything stop your dreams. It didn’t take long for the design
concept to materialize between IM King’s Creative Designer, Brian
Tampol, and Mass Hysteria Werx’s CEO, Brian Ortencio, who are both of Filipino backgrounds.
